Island Princess Harbor Pilot dies in fall

Honolulu Advertiser reports that the pilot fell off a ladder getting off the Island princess and died when the pilot boat then hit him.

Very sad. It always amazed me to watch those harbor pilots getting on and off these ships. We used to watch them especially in Alaska, while the ship was moving how they get on and off of the ship. How they co-ordinate the small boat and the large ship so that they can get on and off. Our prayers are with the family.

My heart goes out to his family & friends and it sounds like he probably had

" A Lot" of friends in the shipping industry. He died doing what he loved, RIP.
