La Sagrada Familia Church in Barcelona

I’m looking at several different excursions in Barcelona.  I want to see this church, but I’m curious about an inside tour.  Is it worth it, or is the majority of the grandeur on the outside?  Thanks.

You definitely want to get inside.  It's a one-of-a-kind destination.  Spend at least a couple hours here.  However, I don't feel the need for a formal guided tour inside any cathedral.  I do it myself.

Make sure you book your entrance as soon as you can. You will not be able to just walk up and get in. You have to pre-book and if you get a chance to go up one of the towers I would also recommend that. You go up in a lift and walk back down and it is amazing to look at all the intricate carvings on the way back down.

You definitely need to book online. There are choices on the site. You can be guided or use the audio guide or just wander. We got a taxi from the ship to right outside. Our booked time was 11.00 am and the guards manning the entry gates don't allow you to queue early during high season. We hired the audio guide and found it really good and informative this was also booked prior to visit. The inside is so different to the exterior. The sheer size of the columns and the beautiful Windows ......amazing. enjoy your visit.

You don't need a tour if you just want to look around and be amazed, but the audio guide or a tour would add a lot about the architecture and history of the place.

Thanks for all your responses.  Picked a Princess excursion that included an inside visit of the church.  We'll  have an hour inside so that seems about right.
