Check In time in Dubai

Good evening from Norway, 

 

We are booked on the Diadema out of Dubai this coming winter. We are very excited to try out Costa Cruises as we have mainly sailed on MSC and RCI before. 

 

So, we wonder, when do the check in open and embarkation start in Dubai? 

 

Any answers appreciated.

On the Dubai-Savona repositioning last year, checkin opened around 1800 (evening before sailing). There's immigration exit, if I recall correctly you surrender your passport and get a temporary card.

I did the seven-day local cruise a couple of years ago, can't remember checkin exactly, but wasn't impressed with the itinerary, compared with the Caribbean.

Some years ago the embarkation started at 3 PM but you couldn't have your cabin until 8 PM. That's quite late and the first day of the cruise is practically gone. Remains to see if it's the same this winter season, I hope not.
