Fish Bowl and Pitchers

We were on the Valor last month and bought a pitcher in the Eagle Lounge, the pitcher was full of ice from bottom to top, we only got four drinks from it - on the rocks size. It was about $30, needless to say we didn't buy another one. We did buy half price fishbowls at the Red Frog bar on deck 5 from 2:30 - 4:30, price - $10. They were not watered down.

You had a different experience than me then. I watched them fill the glass with ice and pour straight from a jug.

On Breeze a couple of years ago, if you ordered from the Pub they made your drink fresh, but at the Red Frog BAR on the Lido deck, they poured them straight from a jug.

During happy hour they are half off.  You can buy as many buckets as you want pretty much.  Ive seen people buy several buckets and take them to their room for later.

We did this in one cruise when we didn’t have the drink package (can’t do it with that). Bought a few buckets during happy hour and took some back to the room.

The time I saw a “happy hour” it was early on embarkation day maybe until 1 or two and then it was also on port day while most were off the ship.

Anyone know when the Fishbowls go half off? Is it during the first day or only during the happy hours on certain days?

If I bought the first one (over $20) would I be able to get it filled on Cheers since the price is less than $20?

Can't refill on Cheers. It would be considered a double.

I'm still stuck on post#18, where the cruiser was able to buy (I think?) a case and a half of beer at half price??  That's better than getting the growler they didn't have on Sunrise!

I was on the Horizon in September and didnt see/know about this. How do you know when and where? We had our first drink at Red Frog on Lido and there was no mention of. Do you have to ask?

We also ate at the steakhouse on the second night and was never offered free or half priced bottles of wine.🤷‍♀️

Fish bowl is at Red Frog Pub usually on Promenade.  Red Frog Rum bar (on Lido) is different

Thanks.. that's what I figured.. but still tempted to get one on day 1 since I can't use Cheers program (thanks TABC) on Vista.  On that note, is the fishbowl available on the Vista before they depart?

Stupid TABC rules.

The pitcher that I purchased on the Vista on embarkation day in Galveston 7.31.21 at 12:50pm cost $12.58 according to my folio. That would have included any applicable sales tax due to Texas. When I boarded I went directly to the casino for the 5 minute muster, then straight to Guy’s, and then to the Red Frog Pub. I did not notice any signage regarding reduced drink pricing or Happy Hour for that day or any other day. On a September 2019 trip on Freedom, we had fishbowls for half price on Embarkation Day at the Red Frog Pub. So once I was on Vista, I just headed that way.

I had Cheers on Vista, and it kicked in on Day 2. I went back to the Red Frog Pub several times during the week. Mainly because they served Dos  Equis in bottles. One day I ordered another Caribbean Iced Tea and it was served in a regular tall drink glass.

Was this at the pub (usually on the promanade) or the bar (on the lido)?

I ask because the one on the Lido does premix and pours from a jug.  The Pub is made fresh.

Interesting... pitcher instead of the fishbowl.

I like the glass but if the pitcher is that cheap.. than game on.
