Cabin category letters....

What do the letters mean?   "ML, MB...." when you see your cabin type?

Thanks in advance

S = Suite

M = Mini-Suite

D = Deluxe Balcony

B = Balcony

O = Oceanview

I = Inside

Within each of the above, the cabin type is stratified from A down to F (not necessarily all letters on all ships), such that the "A" are always mid-ship, down to "F" which is always farthest forward.  Princess will rate the same cabin to the aft as higher than all the way forward.  For example, a far aft Inside is IE for the most part, while a far forward Inside is IF.

You can use ship deck plans on Princess website to see how the various categories are distributed around the ship.

In addition to the above, there can be Premium categories (above "A") for Balconies and higher.  These will have numbers, like M1, S2, etc.  (Never heard of ML - perhaps you meant M1).

And then there are Obstructed View cabins - either Oceanview or Balcony or Deluxe Balcony.  These have letter codes from V thru Z, again with V being mid-ship and Z being far forward.  Not all letter categories will necessarily be on all ships.  There is no such thing as Obstructed Mini's or Suites.

We're booked in L108 on the Regal, which is a forward obstructed mini. It's classified as obstructed because the balcony walls are steel as opposed to glass like other balconies.

Correct.  I forgot about those.
