Drink Cards on Holland America

We are considering purchasing a couple of drink cards prior to sailing on Holland America this month.  If we do and for some reason we are unable to go on the cruise (ie family illness) will Holland refund these?  Has anyone had any experience with this potential situation?

Yes, I get a drink card every cruise.  I have never used one up and the remainder has ALWAYS been refunded back to my credit card within a day or two without fail.

There is no $ advantage to buying before you get on board that I am aware of but others will correct me if I am misinformed. After 8 cruises I have bought quite a few thousands of $s of beverage cards and can recommend them for the convenience of not having a LONG list of purchases on our account at the end of the cruise but other than that there is no realistic benefit for me.

Anything you pre purchase will be refunded to you if you do not make the cruise, i.e., Beverage Cards, dinners, shore excursions.  I know because we pre purchase many items and a couple of times we have had to cancel cruises.

Additionally, any unused portion of a beverage card will be refunded to you on your final bill, so if you just can't manage to finish off the cards, those few bucks come back to you.
