Gruz port area

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,    We are only visiting Dubrovnlk for an afternoon and as we have been into the walled town several times we thought that we could explore the port area.    Is there plenty to see around and about ?     Thanks for any info.

Little around the port area itself.  Most you could do is walk along the port/harbour area in the direction of the Old Town and walk back again or take a bus back depending on how far you walked.

With the bus station right next to the cruise port you have more options and very simple to do either of the two options below.

We have visited several times and have twice taken the bus to Cavtat. This year we took the bus to the Lapad beach area just for a change of scene.

Although Lapad is pleasant to walk alongside the beaches and waterfront, we much prefer Cavtat. Depending on your time in port I would suggest Cavtat first, but Lapad if you only have 3 or 4 hours.

Much info on this thread if you go further back than this current page 12 which has some info on both.:

  • 2 weeks later...

We just returned from a cruise with a stop in Dubrovnik. Seemed like there were a few restaurants and shops near Gruz -- but it's also a major bus stop, so I'm sure you could access other areas via the city bus system. Looked like a beach and beachside area in the direction opposite the direction to the old town. Enjoy!
