Evening folks.  Me and wife are embarking Saturday for a trip on the Elation.  This will be our fourth cruise and third on the Elation so won't be much of a ship tour but will be happy to get anything specific.  This will be our first time sailing out of Port Canaveral though and two new ports of Grand Turks and Amber Cove. A little about us.  We are late 30's and my cruise style is laid back people watching with a cold drink, me and the Red Frog guys get pretty close.  My wife is a fan of the shows and casino.  We both enjoy the MDR so food porn will follow. We are going down an extra day early to tour the space museum.  Started packing this evening and leaving out early in the morning.   A cold snap hit us here in NC and am looking forward to warmer weather.   I'm not much of a reviewer so don't expect Jamaan, Sid or any of the other great reviewers we have but hopefully ya'll get something out of it.

Looking forward to your review. We enjoyed both of our cruises on her, though those were from Jacksonville. 😎

Our first two were out of Jacksonville and liked the port.  Both embark and debarked were a breeze. Very excited to get this one started.

One other thing about this trip.  I am very excited for the room.  We have one of the scenic  ocean views.  When they refurbed the Elation/Paradise was when we first started cruising and I immediately knew I wanted one.  We originally booked the Paradise last March in one but Carnival changes the itinerary so we change ships and lost the room. But we got lucky and got the room again. Stayed in a Jr Suite on deck 14 our first trip and loved the top deck location.

Since we had such an early start we skipped breakfast so the hunger pains started popping up. My wife’s favorite fast food is popeys and we don’t have one anywhere close at home.  So naturally that’s going to be lunch today.  I’m not a huge fan but hey it’s fried chicken. I took the opportunity to try the spicy chicken sandwich. It was darn tasty!  Now it’s not chick filet good but a solid lunch none with less.  Now to get through the rest of Georgia.

And we have made it. Made a pit stop in Daytona Beach for a few pictures at the speedway.  Made it to our hotel and the weather has turned nasty with rain. We are at the Days Inn in Melbourne.  Not five star but since we are staying two days we tried to keep the cost down.   It’s clean and seems kept up well enough, good enough for us.

Now we did have to stop at Walmart to avert a crisis. My wife pointed out that not all of my amazon order hd come including my hangover prevention!! Quick run into Walmart for old faithful, Pedialyte.  Also have to pick up a gorilla pod for my GoPro as it misses the delivery date too. Now to find some dinner.

Lounged around for a bit and it was time for dinner. Found a local place called Me-N-Tito’s.  It was basically a Chipotle. Reasonable prices and very good. Hit up a Best Buy for a couple things and back to the hotel. Tomorrow we visit the space museum.

I'm sure a lot of folks that were posting yesterday will be hoping that the Pepsi stays in jail!

Yeah that got some conversations going.  My wife is a Pepsi fan so it made her happy.  My beverages are generally coffee, water and 21+ options.   Not much of a soda drinker.

Sorry our usual sunny warm Florida weather isn't cooperating for you! Nasty and rainy here in northeast Florida today and high of 55, but def warmer than NC! Enjoy your cruise on Elation, looking forward to reading the rest of your review. Love Port Canaveral.

When we came in yesterday it was nasty.  This morning is very nice. Uppers 70s and a bit overcast.  Definitely better than NC!

Cell service there wasn’t the greatest.  Haven’t eaten since breakfast so we are starved.  Settling in at Grills Seafood and Tiki bar. Hurricane IPA for the first beer of vacation. Order of cheese bread to start.  Eating on the water is a rare treat for us.

Dinner was a Shrimp Cuban with sriracha and my wife had a philly cheese steak. We were both happy with the food.  Made a quick stop at the dollar tree for a couple things and back to the room.  Next stop, Cruise day!
