Yes.  They are the kind that has a button that needs to be constantly pressed to keep the dryer on.

Is one allowed to bring one's own hairdryer? I have a small travel one that doesn't blow the hair off my head, and has an on/off button.

 Yes you may bring your own....although the ones in the cabin won’t blow the hair off your head either as they are not that powerful.
