3CanadianBears Posted December 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2019 I booked a cruise with the dining perk, and chose times to reserve. The confirmation shows for Le Bistro as “a la carte” and the confirmation states “ charges will apply” ? Is this the usual way it is shown? We’ve cruised NCL before, but never with speciality dining. Thanks for any help!
kjunea Posted December 3, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 3, 2019 Just cruised the Escape in September and we did Le Bistro with the Dining comp. No charge for dinner.
3CanadianBears Posted December 3, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted December 3, 2019 Thanks. We’ll be on the Escape as well. I was confused by the wording (?)

Thanks for any help! Yes it is. All the restaurants are included in the specialty dining. There is an up charge at Cagney and Ocean Blue for a few items. There used to be a set service charge at the individual restaurants that paying guests would be charged. Those customer without the UDP now pay for what they order rather than the fee hence the a la carte wording. Moderno and Teppanyaki still have a set fee if you do not use a dining credit. 3CanadianBears Posted December 3, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted December 3, 2019 Thanks very much for the confirmation. Looking forward to trying the speciality restaurants, though to be honest we’ve always enjoyed the main dining rooms on NCL. As a perk, we’ll give it a try. Cheers! Rare KeithJenner Posted December 3, 2019 #7 Share Posted December 3, 2019 When you make a reservation, the ones with a fixed charge state the cost. If you don’t have the dining package then it shows (and charges you) the full cost. If you do have the package then it says zero. The a la carte places show “a la carte” as the cost whether you have the package or not. As stated above, the cost will be zero if you have the package as long as you just have one entree and don’t order any specific items with upcharges.
