Blue Chip Club Cruise Discount ?

Asking anyone that has gone lately about how the Blue Chip discounts work .. I have learned some things by calling but I never seem to get all my answers.  My cruise is still a long way out but would love to know what others have experienced with getting discounts (not referring to free cruise offers).

What I have learned:

- discounts are based solely on play while on the last cruise you sailed immediately prior to the one to be booked/discounted

- they cannot apply anything until 6 months before but they are able to check what you would get

- your play level has nothing to do with the discount applied, only related to level perks that they list on their site

What I am uncertain of:

- if they quote you a discount ... $$ off your cruise ... is that a per room thing or per member ... could a second person/member in the room also get a blue chip discount for same room (if they qualify of course)?

- i read about it not applying to rooms booked with non refundable deposit ???  huh .. mine is booked this way and now wonder if that will impact ... this one makes no sense

I find I have such a hard time getting straight answers, feel like I ask two questions and get an answer to one and that answer makes me need to ask another.  My cruise being so far off I can only inquire at this point and not actually apply anything but it really would be nice to fully understand what to expect.

Thanks to anyone that can share their recent experiences!

You might want to post this in the casino forum, as players tend to check there.

I think the reason that you are not getting any responses is that there is some sort of Blue Chip Club model or black box where these answers reside, and nobody here is privy. As a Sapphire we get the standard 20% casino discount until 6 months or so before the cruise, and then it usually becomes a free cruise (except for port charges).  Sometimes we have to talk to a supervisor if the first answers don’t make sense.

Are you getting the emails and mailings with free cruises listed?  Some of those are very soon, others 8 months out.

Oh ... I didn't realize there was a casino forum ... THANK YOU I will post there too.

Ya I get free cruise offers, have taken them up on a few but nothing recently.  This time I wanted to select something specific myself and hopefully benefit from the discount.

And I can totally understand the need to talk to a supervisor as I find their service to be odd sometimes, feels like playing a game where I have to outsmart them ... totally odd.
