We are looking at a cruise in july to iceland don't know whether to book a deluxe inside or an oceanview (unobstructed). How much light would be in the room with an outside as it will only be dark early hrs of the morning for a short while.

Having visited Iceland mid summer on QV, a couple of times, I would say the balcony curtains will not keep the cabin in darkness. Twilight level yes, but the curtains ( QG) we have experienced, will not give total darkness.

That saying, the scenery one can see from the cabin and balcony,, outweighs any light problem.

Having been to Iceland 3X, book an oceanview and bring an eye mask and a clothes pin for the curtains.

thank you everyone for your help have booked an oceanview on deck 1, hopefully we will see some whales through the window. Checked what time it gets dark in iceland, when we go it will be dark from about 11pm to 4.30pm so not so bad.

Just to clarify a probable typo, the darkness will be from about 11 pm until 4:30 AM.   We will be on the east bound Iceland crossing in August and should be in the middle of a South Coast tour at 4:30 pm :classic_biggrin:
