Georgetown to Rum Point- halfway meetup?

We will be in Georgetown for one of our cruise stops next week.  We have friends staying in Rum Point.  Is there a good halfway point to meet up with them- public beach or some attraction?  It's too far for us to go all the way to Rum Point and get back in time for all-aboard.

There’s not much in between that I’d consider worth the effort.  You’d need to rent a car, and if you’re going to do that then you might as well drive the extra 25 min or so to Rum Point.

Personally, I’d get your friends to drive in and pick you up near the port, then go by car to see some of the sights.  (They can always combine it with a stop for groceries on the way back.)

Or, if your friends have access to a boat, have them pick you up at Camana Bay for a water-based day.  That’s what we usually do when friends are visiting by cruise ship at the same time that we happen to be on island for vacation.
