We will soon be on our Getaway cruise that stops in Grand Cayman.

Does anyone know what the procedure is for getting a tender?  Do you have to go pick up a tender ticket number at a certain time?

Thanks in advance!

If you have booked an excursion through NCL-- your excursion ticket is your tender ticket.  It will tell you where and what time to meet.  Those who have purchased excursions through NCL have priority.  In your Freestyle Daily you will be given information about the tendering process and how to obtain tender tickets.

Enjoy your cruise.

I was on the dec 13th sailing of the getaway. Here is what I learned from the tendering at grand cayman process. I checked about 3 days before our stop in grand cayman and was told no tender tickets were available yet but will be available the next day. So that next morning I made reservations on the tv in my room for group D. Which was the earliest available. You dont actually get a ticket they say it is loaded onto your seapass card. Then later that day I was looking at the electronic boards around the ship and it had something that said get your tender tickets here. So I clicked on it at it offered group A so I got that. Now day of grand cayman we arrived early so we went down to deck 7 and waited a few minutes and they called group A and we walked right on to the tender and waited about 5-10 min on tender and off we went. We ended up in port about 20 minutes before we were even supposed to arrive in port. Worked out great for us. But talking to other guests they said it was a nightmare and it took hours for their group to get called. After all that no one even checked to see if we group A or not I believe anybody ready could have walked on.

If you have a NCL shore ex that meets on the ship, they will escort you to the tender line.

if you have a NCL shore ex with a meeting point on the dock, you have to join the back of the tender line (at any time) in time to meet your tour on shore. Lines can take an hour during peek periods.

if you are going ashore on your own, you need to keep checking the touch screen kiosks to get your selection of times. When your group is called, you can join the back of the line (which may take an hour to get ashore during peek times).

if you have Priority tendering, you can join the BACK of the line any time (which may take an hour to get ashore during peek times).
