Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We are planning a big trip with a couple different countries. First stop London for a few days, followed by a MSC Norwegian cruise. After the cruise, we will be taking the ferry then the train to Paris for on night and then the train to Barcelona, where we will be boarding a transatlantic cruise to NY. Do you think we will need to exchange currancy for any leg of the trip? We will have credit cards available. Last year, we visited London for a few days before heading to Barcelona on a med cruise. We found that most places were just tap your card and go. We are not big shoppers, so most of our purchases will be food, excursions, etc.
  2. Does anyone have a recent copy of the activity schedule for the Breeze 5 day? I have a friend going and they would like to know what to expect. Thanks in advance!
  3. At Tropicante now. No seaweed. Carolina is no longer here, but it is still up and running. We got here early, at 9:30, and it is a pretty slow....as it was when we were here in June. Hope it picks up for them.
  4. Thinking of sailing the Virtuosa from Southhampton in May on a Norwegian Fjords sailing. We were then thinking about then taking a Carnival TransAtlantic out of Barcelona to New York. I've been on one 3 day MSC cruise from Miami. I have a few questions before I book. On MSC, in the casino, are you able to charge what you gamble on your ship card, or do you have to bring money for the machines? I'm guessing the ship would be using pounds? The only cruise I've done in Europe was RCCL and they used USD. I've just started researching, so I'm a little overwhelmed at where to start... Thanks in Advance
  5. Thought I would give an update. We were on the Mardi Gras and my son and I took a taxi , $4 per person, to Tropicante. They were open and we got a lounger in the shade. We had a very nice day relaxing. We are not drinkers, be we did have some chips and guac, a quesadilla and some sodas. We had a nice time, but I am honestly worried about how they are doing. During our time, there were only 3 groups there. The other restaurants seemed to be busier and had more of a vaca vibe, with music. I know things have changed with covid and there were not near as many people visiting, but I was surprised at how slow it was. I've been toTropicante probably 4 times before and hope they are able to stay open. They do need to have more of an internet presence. The last post on their facebook page was from Dec 2021.
  6. Has anyone been to Tropicante lately? I have been there pre COVID and just wondering how it is now that Steve is not there.
