BebeCat Posted December 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2019 In the Costa Club there are “valid” points & “historical” points. I understand the valid points but not expired historical points. Is there a reason for keeping up with them?
tenpin Posted December 31, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2019 (edited) That is Costa's way of saying we don't reward loyal customers, but give preference to those who cruise once this year & twice next with them, Points run out every year so you can be Peala Diamante now but unless you cruise with them at least twice a year you will always drop in level, the old points (Historical) are what you had earnt in previous years & do not count towards Club levels after three years. Valid points are only counted for the last three years cruises with them We were up to 55,000 but next June I will drop from Pearle Diamante to Gold Pearl as I through illness missed out cruising with them enough to keep my club level up. This also means that there is very little chance of a suite on most Med cruises as they are given as an up-grade to those who do that extra cruise & remain at the higher club level, This is the first year my wife & I have not been away in February with Costa since 1998 as we were unable to buy a suite at full price on any ship in the Med this winter.
