Mrs Wally Posted January 1, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2020 Hi Has anybody recently visited Tortola and knows whether Pussers Landing is operational again following the damage it sustained in hurricane Irma? We visited many years ago as part of an organised tour and would love to visit again however It does not appear on any of the organised tours currently. Thanks! Denarius Posted January 1, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2020 The Pussers Store in Road Town was certainly open when I called there last January, although the upper storey was still being repaired and access was limited to the ground floor. Was dissappointed to see that the local authorities had erected a sign on the way from the cruise dock directing visitors to the "town centre" and away from the Pussers Store and the small market on the other side of the road. Not a good way to promote the towns best hostelry!

Hi mrs wally have been to Tortola before and after (IRMA) it is well worth the trip around the island, open sided mini bus out side the Terminal price about $20 pp visiting the very top through the clouds and seeing Richard branson island and Puerto Rico, visiting a little beach with its own Rum factory, its a must. Otter18 Posted January 1, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 1, 2020 I was out there for a 4 weeks September through October. Pussers Bar still had scaffolding around it, but was fully operational. I didn't visit Pussers Landing itself, but the west end of the island has not recovered as well as the rest IMHO. Cain Garden Bay is still worth a visit as most of the restaurants etc are back up and running. Although some of the hotels are still under repair. I understand P&O are still doing trips to 'The Baths' which is pretty and quite interesting, as you can walk and swim around the giant boulders on the beach running into the sea. blue_water Posted January 2, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2020 (edited) Pusser’s Landing in West End is open, as are the Road Town and CGB locations... Drivers at the pier offer shared safari taxi tours, some with a stop in West End or CGB. Typical fares are $20 - $25/pp for 4 hours. No need to reserve ahead, just inquire at the visitors center vehement you arrive to find the tour that appeals to you, or talk to the drivers. Other taxis will be transporting your fellow cruisers to CGB or Brewers Bay for ~$8/pp each way. You can also take a more personalized, private tour with Arnold who is a very popular tour operator and his rates are very reasonable - but contact him early! - http://www.info-res.com/actaxibvi/ Edited January 2, 2020 by blue_water
