Billthekid Posted January 12, 2020 #26 Share Posted January 12, 2020 Just off the Zandam and American Test Kitchen's contract expired `12-31-2019, to be replaced by ships' staff and guest chefs so we were told. So the ships' recipes are for 500 persons and you would adjust the recipe accordingly. Instead of 5 pounds of butter you would use 2 tablespoons for example. MisterBill99 Posted January 12, 2020 #27 Share Posted January 12, 2020 I was just on Koningsdam and was told that they plan to bring on local chefs and make it more along the lines of EXC.

scrappytraveler Posted January 13, 2020 #30 Share Posted January 13, 2020 Just got this reply from HAL Ship Services regarding ATK. "We are now offering a new program called Port To Table. Please see the below description from our website of this new program. Each voyage brings a guest chef on board to guide you through the culinary traditions of your destinations. Try local flavors at a food & wine tasting, add a new recipe to your repertoire at a live cooking demonstration or indulge your senses at a fine dining event. For those looking to continue their epicurean immersion on shore, guest chefs lead select shore excursions*, exploring local cuisines while sharing their gastronomic expertise in the field. *Shore excursions and fine dining events require an additional cost. " Hope they have this in place by my March cruise on the Koningsdam.
oakridger Posted January 14, 2020 #31 Share Posted January 14, 2020 scrappytraveler, this sounds like a good new program if it plays out as described. I would love to attend those types of cooking/tasting events featuring destination based cuisine! ~Nancy
