joat Posted January 9, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2020 We are looking at MSC as a good possibility for us to get from South America to Europe in the spring of 2021. We have sailed on several cruise lines for lengthy periods and find it a great way to check out locales/countries to which we want to return for more time than a cruise stop permits. Since we will be in South America and want to move onward to Europe (as spring/summer begins there), this just seems like a cost effective way to do it. Time is not a factor for we are retired. Anyone who has sailed a relocation cruise with MSC? 17 Night Transatlantic Cruise Leaving: Santos Cruise Line: MSC Cruises Ship: Fantasia
CruisingFox27 Posted January 10, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2020 (edited) We've been on a couple of repositioning cruises and we thoroughly enjoyed them. We have not sailed your proposed itinerary, our transatlantics were East to West. We like the more relaxed feel on a longer cruise, although I understand the cruises departing South America can be more lively than average. rool Posted January 10, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2020 We will be doing this cruise on March 10 this year on Fantasia as well. It's phenomenal value compared to a single flight. In our case we get a 16 day holiday, visiting several ports and all meals included for about £150 more than a one way flight from Sao Paulo to Barcelona. We did the reverse (Valencia to Santos) in November 18 and thoroughly enjoyed it. As Cruisingfox27 above states, it was lively due to the number of Brazilians on board but it made for a good atmosphere.
