Valor hot tubs

My son and his family just got back from the December 26 sailing on the valor. His wife and two young children came back with blistering rashes from the hot tubs requiring medical attention. Beware.

I can’t imagine it would be the heat. The last few times I’ve been in Carnival hot tubs it’s been like tepid bath water.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. Bacteria thrive in warmer temperatures. That's why grocery stores, and especially hospitals are do darn cold. Brrrrrrr.....

I avoid the ship's hot tubs.  When we sailed on the Dream we had balcony room above one of the hot tubs and I would enjoy seeing all the drinking and having a good time with all the people in the tub but noticed very few left the hot tub after a couple hours. They either had very large bladders or 😬

The pool chemical balance is part of the CDC's (USPHS/CDC/Vessel Sanitaion Program) inspection.  The monitoring is all computerized, which is how the CDC knows if the ship is keeping the water chemicals balanced.  This monitoring shows if, and for how long, the chemicals are imbalanced.

For those who don't go in them, I expect you don't use pools either.

 

To my knowledge, these are drained and inspected every day. Sorry that happened.
