Coffee to go - not Starbucks

We will be on the Joy next week.   Is there someplace to get a cup of coffee to go that I could take with me to sit in the waterfront area or by one of the pool decks?  Can I get a to-go cup at the buffet or do any of the bars have coffee brewing in the morning?   Or, is my only option to bring my own travel cup and make it in my room or order a pot from morning room service?   I don't drink Starbucks at home, so I don't plan on buying it on the ship.

There is on demand coffee at the buffet all the time.  Yes, you can walk around the ship with it.

There is also a coffee shop/bakery, and I think they serve Lavazza/Bustelo in their espresso drinks.

Thanks.  Do they have to-go cups at the buffet, or do I need to bring my own?  I don't recall seeing a coffee shop/bakery on the deck plans, other than the Starbucks?  Do you know where that would be on the Joy?

Yes, they have paper cups.

I forget the Joy.  Maybe that is the one with an SBUX.  I tend to think that all the ships have the same offerings in different configurations.

No worry.  There's on demand coffee at the buffet, and sometimes they have an espresso machine at the casino bar, which I think is free also, or can be if you tip the guy a dollar.

I know I have seen early morning coffee/tea set ups on the waterfront on both sides of the ship on the Escape.  I don't know if they have them on the Joy or not (our cruise was a noro cruise so we didn't have self-service anything), but you can check on your sailing to see if they have them.  They had hot water, coffee, cups, sweeteners, creamers, etc. all set up for you to help your self to.

But getting a pot from room service is free, and you have them bring you a basket of pastries too and get chocolate croissants (a great way to start any day).

Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

The cups are small. Bring your own. I always bring a large travel mug for coffee.

I thought I had read that the cups supplied were small.   I don't need something huge and it doesn't really need to keep my coffee hot for hours because I can always get a refill.   I picked up a two pack plastic 16oz reusable coffee cups with a cover at the dollar store.  That should be good enough.  Then if I mistakenly leave it sitting someplace it's no great loss.   I'll test them out tomorrow morning to be sure the coffee won't burn my hand thru the plastic.

Buy 1 Venti Starbucks.

Pour it out.

Rinse out cup.

Reuse at one of the free coffee stations.

Fixed that for ya.

Threadstarter specifically stated that she does not drink Staryucks.

We brought the paper cups with lid before.  Did use them several times before tossing them. I wish i had kept count of the people asking where we got them from.this worked out well because my husband is worse than a kid when he carries the real thing. Leaves them and we have to go on the hunt to find it.

I will preface by saying that we sailed on the Joy to Alaska and there was limited demand for coffee on deck in the mornings.

Morning coffee is in large supply in the buffet and observation lounge. On other ships in warmer waters, coffee is usually available at one of the waterfront bars, mix bar, library. I didn’t see any of that on our Alaskan cruise.

I don’t believe that I have ever seen takeout coffee cups for regular coffee. It is usually only mugs (which are decent size).

They do serve hot soup out on the pool deck in Alaska. Yum!

On most of the ships, there are coffee stations close by the Humidor, and there are paper cups then. That is the only place I have seen them. They're not at any of the other coffee stations. (that I remember).
