doctors cave beach montego bay

Recommended Posts

hi all, we are thinking  of lounging at doctors cave beach near the cruise port of montego bay on Tuesday changeover day.   its a taxi ride from the dock and I gather $6  entrance fee  and same for brolly/bed    or can you just chuck your towel down.  I ask this cos we wont be laying there all day we want to explore around  on foot after a snorkel at the beach.  will it be too far to walk back to ship  and is there much to see in downtown.  I will be taking us dollars  is it necessary to have some Jamaican dollars.  any  feedback would be welcome

  many thanks

You pay for entrance and beds/brolly separate so you don't need to pay for loungers and just use towels on the beach

Normally the taxi driver charges for a return trip and you don't pay until he comes back for you at whatever time you agree on so you can go walkabout and then meet him back outside Doctors Cave at whatever time you want

US dollars are all you'll need

Enjoy

Please ignore jpg as I uploaded wrong photo and can't delete it 😏

Hi,

if you are looking to chill on a beach for a while, my suggestion would be the Hard Rock Cafe in Montego Bay. Just walk out of the cruise port, ignore the taxi drivers and turn right at the road after port gates. It’s about a 10 minute walk (or you may be lucky and see the complimentary mini bus). Cost $4US for sunbed, umbrella, lovely pool and of course refreshments as required. Highly recommend.
