Can anyone confirm for me that MSC does not issue W2G forms for winnings over $1200.00?

They do not for cruises outside the United States. I can confirm that as I hit two jackpots over $1200 on a European MSC cruise and did not have to pay tax/get a W2G. I believe for cruises that depart from US ports though that they do issue W2Gs to Americans. I'm pretty sure that was what I was told on here when I asked that question previously.

Probably only MSC can confirm for sure. Or the casino staff when you board.

But now I have to ask it. Why are you asking?

It will probably impact how much I gamble or not.  I hate W2G forms.  I have mostly sailed with Royal Caribbean and a little bit NCL.  Years ago none of them gave W2G's.  Now they both do.  Losses always would be written off against winnings 100% years ago, but now not completely on state taxes, so if they don't give them that is a plus to me.

Yes, we have that issue here in Taxachusetts. On our state taxes you can only apply losses to winnings from Mass. casinos and the losses also have to be from Mass. casinos.
