slotmomma3 Posted February 11, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2020 Can anyone confirm for me that MSC does not issue W2G forms for winnings over $1200.00?
sandebeach Posted February 12, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2020 I have read about this on several casino FB pages, but I can't verify it myself.

They do not for cruises outside the United States. I can confirm that as I hit two jackpots over $1200 on a European MSC cruise and did not have to pay tax/get a W2G. I believe for cruises that depart from US ports though that they do issue W2Gs to Americans. I'm pretty sure that was what I was told on here when I asked that question previously. Or the casino staff when you board. But now I have to ask it. Why are you asking? Edited February 20, 2020 by Paulras

Years ago none of them gave W2G's. Now they both do. Losses always would be written off against winnings 100% years ago, but now not completely on state taxes, so if they don't give them that is a plus to me. Yes, we have that issue here in Taxachusetts. On our state taxes you can only apply losses to winnings from Mass. casinos and the losses also have to be from Mass. casinos.
