Paramedics were called to the international passenger terminal at Circular Quay shortly before 7.30am on Friday as the ship, the Norwegian Jewel, docked. julig22 Posted February 14, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2020 Well, the first clue that this particular article needs a little fact checking is that it claims the person was trying to board - that doesn't usually happen until the current passengers have disembarked. But there are other articles - some report that it's a man from Singapore, others say a woman, some say the ship is in lock down (which I believe has been denied and passengers have left the ship) and so on. But leave it to the press to rush to get the scoop without waiting to find out what is really happening. More recent reports (and NCL comments) indicate that a person, possibly with pre-existing medical issues and current respiratory issues, was taken off the ship ahead of other passengers, so disembarking passengers were delayed by about 45 minutes and have been permitted to leave the ship. Passengers on the next cruise were asked to wait an additional hour or so to embark (reported by actual passengers on the next cruise).

Our luggage tag was supposed to be called at 9:15, was called at 9:45. The only annoying thing was the a broadcast announcement around 7 am that they are working on clearance. The ship came from NZ with no cases of coronavirus and the only problem we had was a mild norovirus outbreak( less than 2% - so will not show up on the CDC website).
