We like to dress up tux ,fancy dresses it really doesn't matter what other people wear .and we never feel uncomfortable

You’ll about everything.  I do a shirt and tie.  We dont get to adult much at home so we enjoy it when we are cruising.

I haven't done elegant night for my last couple of cruises. The last time I did I wore a blazer and tie and felt way overdressed. If I decide to do it on my next cruise I'll just wear a polo and khakis.

That's perfectly within the requested guidelines for elegant and no one should complain.  Even that is considered dressed up for some though.
