ChristianDamon Posted March 1, 2020 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2020 Hey there, Lately I’ve been cruising solo and have avoided the MDR because frankly I don’t want to get stuck with a group of complete strangers by myself. If someone was coming with me that would be a different story. What are the chances I’d be able to sit solo at say a two top if I went during a slow time? Has anyone had this experience? bury me at sea Posted March 1, 2020 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2020 I haven't used your time dining for several years but back when I did I saw many single diners seated alone at two tops. I don't see a reason to limit yourself to slow times. Go whenever you like and enjoy!
SMSACE6 Posted March 1, 2020 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2020 I have never had a problem getting a two top solo. the first night you go, tell them you want to dine alone, and it wont be a problem. I usually went just shortly after opening or 6pm, and no later than 6.30pm, never had a wait. not sure how it is later in the evening though as I usually dont eat late. Also, if you get a good wait team, you can request the same team next night, and usually also not a problem to get their section with a solo table. Enjoy your cruise. airlink diva Posted March 1, 2020 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2020 Hi recently sailed on the Valor in September and December solo. The evenings I requested a two top, no issue at all. I had to wait about 10-15 minutes and one time right to table. I lucked out on the September trip with an excellent dining room team. I enjoyed their service that I requested to sit in his area the rest of that trip and again in December sat in his section. One night I was placed at a four top alone but no issue. When sitting at the two top, I would sometimes chat with the people next to me. Otherwise said hello and enjoyed my meal.
Pyxie Posted March 2, 2020 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2020 There have been a couple of occasions when I went to the MDR by myself because DH wasn't feeling well and my kids prefer to eat on lido. No issues at all getting a table for one.

Just request a solo table on Your Time Dining. You may have to wait 15 minutes or so, but will be accommodated.
crusinpsychRN Posted March 24, 2020 #7 Share Posted March 24, 2020 Never had a problem getting solo table. Often the table next to me would really want to chat it up. Couldn't believe I'd travel solo. "You're so brave."
