Sky review 03/09-03-13

Since there is an obvious gap in reviews since no ships are sailing, I figured I would do a review of the Sky that my family and I went on. Overall it was a great cruise and for the most part, the virus situation did not affect us for the cruise. We were definitely worried about all the talk about the virus and while I might have thought for a second or 2 about cancelling, the idea was never seriously discussed between us.

We live in NY and we took a flight on Sunday to Miami. We stayed at the TownPlace Suites Miami Airport. They picked us up at the airport quickly and we were settled in within 30 minutes. The hotel was very nice and we had no complaints with the hotel they had a hot breakfast included which was the typical Hotel breakfast. We used the hotel shuttle to get to the cruise port. We took the 11:00 shuttle and we were at the cruise port

We had Suite 8001 so embarkation was a breeze. We were on the ship before noon. they took everyone's temperature before going in. In the port lounge we filled out the health questionnaires. We were escorted by Efren (or Concierge) to the Concierge lounge. hung out until he got all the people he needed to in the lounge (about 15 minutes) and then he escorted us to Cagney's for lunch.

Food was excellent at Cagneys and Le Bistro. The dining room food was good but nothing to rave about. We did not eat at the buffet or order room service which is both a first for us. The suite was amazing and gave us room to spread out and get comfortable. The hot tub on the balcony was great. The beds were very comfortable. The ONLY complaint I could say about the room is that is was not cold enough for us. It was never 'warm' but we do like the room to be cold especially after being in port all day. Our butler was Lourdes and she was amazing. Anything we needed , she was able to help us. Between Efren and Lourdes, we always had anything we needed. They made the trip perfect for us.

We missed Great Stirrup Cay due to winds and we had a Villa so that was disappointing but safety is more important. We did the ATV tour in Freeport which was excellent and I HIGHLY recommend it. It was the first time I did it and it was a great experience

Disembarkation was a breeze and no one was panicking about the virus. we did wipe down everything and tried to use the stairs only and not touch the banisters.

I will share the picks I have shortly but if anyone has any questions... let me know

Thank you so much for posting your review.  We have booked the owners suite on deck 9 for an October cruise. It's much like yours, but the balcony is slightly smaller.  Needless to say, we follow CruiseCritic regularly and are hoping for a return to normal sailings by Fall.  We were on this same cruise this past September and had Efron. Agree with you - he's topnotch. I'm so glad you were able to go and enjoy the Sky!  She's one of our favorites.
