  1. Sounds like you've done your homework and made a very good choice! You realize you can never go back once you've experienced YC.
  2. Add my name to the recommendation for Cruise Control. We've used their service in the past and have them arranged for our MSC cruise in August. We, too, are flying in the day of departure and really value the peace of mind we get with Cruise Control standing by. Wish the airlines were as reliable!
  3. We have cruised multiple times on Regent Seven Seas and loved each time. It definitely is a luxurious experience. Then....we discovered the Yacht Club experience when we joined a group aboard Divina a few years ago. Since then, we've only done YC and have saved a ton of money. It's like comparing apples to oranges in my opinion. RSSC's smaller ships are a big plus for people who like smaller and more intimate ports. YC is a big plus for people who like a big variety of stuff to do while onboard. Both are excellent choices so you must determine what it is you expect on your adventure.
  4. Thank you both for your informed answers. I'll plan to arrange with the butler as suggested.
  5. I've tried to answer my own question with You Tube videos but can't. SO...I'll try here. We have reserved a Royal Suite on Seashore and definitely plan to take advantage of the pool deck cabana that comes with this cabin. On Meraviglia, the cabana was nicely stocked with cold drinks daily by our butler. However, when I look at videos of the cabanas on Seashore I do not see any kind of cooler for refreshments. If Seashore does not have them then I shall plan to pack a foldable cooler. However, if someone who has been there can tell me otherwise, I'll just save the space in my suitcase for more shoes. Thanks for your help.
  6. Although I would never ever consider anything else but yacht club, it sounds like you might really enjoy a balcony cabin anywhere on the ship. You have your seclusion. Must say, however, the secluded atmosphere of the Topsail Lounge might even top that! Really, it's all about how much convenience you want...and yacht club will surely give you that.
  7. This may well be the case for me. I also booked thru Future Cruise Desk. In the past, I've done everything online and was always able to access my booking. Note to self: don't do this again.
  8. This is my 4th cruise on MSC and I don't recall having this issue in the past. My final payment is due 90 days out. However, I'm not finding an online page for making this payment. In the past, I remember going to a page which showed my deposit, etc...and a place to make the final payment. What am I missing? I can't find this area of my booking anywhere online. Is a phone call to MSC the only way I can make this payment? Thank you for any advice/assistance you can offer!
  9. We did the Rich and Famous boat tour. It was a "drive by" of some interesting properties but not overwhelming...mostly because of the trees and shubbery around the houses. The captain and mate made it very entertaining...and we were surprised at some of the famous people who had homes in Bermuda. I would do it again.
  10. Does this suite come with a reserved cabana on the pool deck? Most of what I'm hearing is that the cabanas are "first come" basis. However, on Meraviglia it was reserved for Royal Suite guests. It was one of the best parts of the trip. I'm hoping it's the same on Seashore.
  11. To me it sounds like the first price you were quoted did not include the port taxes. Possible?
  12. I know I've seen it before...and yes,...I have done a "search" but cannot find this online. I am frantically trying to resolve an issue without having to call "reservations" and risk losing what I have. Thanks!
  13. I've tried both ways and get the same response. Perhaps it's because my cruise isn't until August.
  14. If you are talking about MSC for ME, it does not offer a way to edit passport information.
  15. I have been trying for over a week to access a booking I made while onboard my last cruise. What I am trying to do is get to the "manage my booking" area where I can enter my passport information and other personal details. The response I get is "Error" - indicating that I am more than 20 days away from my sail date. Other times I am notified that I'm signing in from the wrong country. FYI, this is not my first time with MSC. It's my 4th. I have never encountered any issues in the past. I know from reading these message boards that problems with MSC's site are ongoing. Has anyone figured out a way to work through this?
  16. Yes! I tried several times yesterday to enter my new passport number onto my August 2024 booking. I kept getting an error message as well..stating that my cruise was more than 20 days out. This is my 4th cruise with MSC and I've never had this problem before. Knowing what others have encountered, I determined this was going to be a temporary problem and would be fixed soon. Fingers crossed.
  17. Maybe not what you are asking, but we always budget for extra gratuities for our butler and junior butler. Also, the concierge if you are using their services. None of this is mandatory...but you might want to include it in your budget.
  18. My daughter and I will be sharing this unit. One of us will be using what is available in the Living room. MSC mentions a sleeper sofa and also two Pullman Beds. Can anyone describe the Pullman Bed.....better yet....furnish a picture. Ideally we'd like to keep the bed made up as a bed the entire time (I nap a lot....I'm old) and have the use of the sofa during the day. Thank you for your help.
  19. Mimiya11 you are going to enjoy your time on tour with her. She's a sixth generation native and her knowledge of the island is incredible.
  20. I"ve been to Bermuda many times, but the tour I took with Heidi opened my eyes to places I never knew existed! Yes. I definitely recommend her tour.
  21. A few weeks ago we had a fantastic 6 hour tour with Heidi Cowan of Bermuda Byways. She can take up to ten people so it may or may not be private, but she certainly personalizes it to suit the participants. She's a native Bermudian and knows so much history and althouth we'd been to Bermuda many times, we learned a lot! I highly recommend Bermuda Byways and Heidi.
  22. We've recently returned from the Bermuda cruise in Yacht Club. While on board, we booked the Costa Maya and Cozumel cruise for next year, also in Yacht Club. I agree with the previous poster who said when you're in Yacht Club it doesn't really matter. Personally, I much perfer the destination of Bermuda over CM or Coz. However, I love Ocean Cay. Seasonally, I think you'd enjoy staying "south" for the time you are aboard. For that reason, I'd say go on Seashore. However, if you're like me...you'll enjoy the Yacht Club's private pool deck more than anything else! Both great choices, however.
  23. Prior to cruising out of Brooklyn I had many concerns about the reliability of service to and from the port. I got good advice from Cruise Critic and thought I'd share what I learned. Pre-cruise, we stayed overnight at the Sheraton LGA East. I had reserved a minivan through Carmel Car Service. Post cruise, I had the same arrangement with Carmel back to the airport. It went perfectly! The company keeps you informed via text what the car and driver look like and when to expect pick up. I had prepaid the first reservation and included the tip in payment. No problem. The return from the port to the airport I had not prepaid and was able to pay directly to the driver. This time we were notified by phone call where the driver was going to be. The pickup area at Brooklyn is very organized. It's located just to the left of the terminal exit. There are three zones. You're better off if you walk up to Zone One. It's less congested and the first zone the driver will approach. Again, I had a picture of the van and the driver and his name. I'd read mixed reviews about Carmel but for me, it was great service, from start to finish. I worried for nothing!
