camiolo Posted February 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2006 Do any of the lines have shipwide wireless internet access? In the future, I'd love to be able to take a cruise while "working from home". Ie, I'd be up on deck, or in one of the lounges from 8 am to 5 pm typing/working away, and then "after work" I'd go out and have fun. Who else thinks it would be cool to take a "working" vacation? kitty9 Posted February 7, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2006 Are you serious? Pay all that money to work all day long? Too much goes on during the day that you'd miss if you're just sitting and typing away from 9 to 5. No, I don't think a working vacation would be cool. You could save all that money and just keep working at home and then go out at night. Not one ship has reliable WiFi. Too much interferrence from too many things on the ship---metal hulls, electronic and radio equipment. You might be lucky to find one or two hot spots on a ship, and those are usually in an area right next to the computer lab. And even those fade out all the time.
