HAL TILES AT AUCTION

There are some nice older ones in your pictures. I see them often for sale on EBay and I found 8 quite by accident in a small antique shop in Winter Haven Fl, where I live, a couple of years ago. I think they were $10.00 for the 8...very good value for a collector. I bought them.

We rarely go to the Mariner's luncheon on board anymore so I have not gotten any of the new ones in quite some time.

We are 4 star and will never live to be 5 star...not that it matters.

We made 5 Star late last year but have yet to sail as one.  Have cancelled three cruises since making 5 Star!!

Way behind you star wise but have the same sentiment.  My last cruise I became 3 star.  Every cruise I have booked since has been cancelled.

Did you know that you could have requested them from the Front Desk? We've done that a couple of cruises when we were unable to or just did not want to attend the Mariners lunches. In the afternoon of the lunch, we would just stop by and ask for them and they would appear with our night mail delivery/turn down by our room steward.

They - the "tegels" or tiles - are always on eBay, some quite cheap, others the victims of highway robbery as a result of what their "owners" dare to ask for them. The most recent two years (2017-2018 & 2019) of 'Prinsendam' are playing hard to get more than likely because the 'elegant explorer' left the fleet in 2019

Have not bought any tiles from Ebay, but I did buy a Maasdam Inaugural plate on Ebay after we'd sailed on her half a dozen times.

All of these things are about good memories and we have many of those surrounding our HAL cruises over the years.
