pberk Posted July 23, 2020 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2020 We had such great times in Alaska on Infinity and Millennium. We had hoped to get back there, especially Icy Strait with one of our favorite nature walks.
4774Papa Posted July 23, 2020 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2020 We love Celebrity and prefer it to other lines, but it doesn't go to Glacier Bay and Glacier Bay is not to be missed.
LEtue Posted July 23, 2020 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2020 I sailed on the Millennium RT from Vancouver last August - just to get to Icy Strait and Sitka again on the same itinerary. It is a beautiful ship and the balcony cabin was the best I've experienced - but I sure missed Glacier Bay and the surrounding area 🙁
deliver42 Posted July 23, 2020 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2020 Love the video. Thank you. Been to Alaska twice, but never to Icy Strait.

Glacier Bay is certainly impressive. Been there and loved it. BUT -- Tracy Arm can be exciting too. We had a beautiful day off the Solstice (in 2013) onto the small Explorer ship for a close up look at the Sawyer Glaciers (South and North) and to top it off a pod of Orcas gave us a terrific show. This trip is on my short list! Been wanting to do this the next time I have a full day in Juneau!
Rare Von & John Posted July 25, 2020 #7 Share Posted July 25, 2020 Hopefully we'll be open to cruises next year! Currently we are experiencing high rates of C-19 w/in the Seafood Processing Industry - both ships & land-based...

Thanks for the nice video. Yes, it was impressive. Glacier Bay was practically an all day event, how long were you in Tracy AM?

Then about an hour to get to Juneau and back to the Solstice. It was nifty boarding the Explorer ship inside Tracy Arm. Very special. We had plenty of time in Juneau as I think all aboard was at 8:30pm .. Alaska has never disappointed me. It's really impossible to capture an image of how close we got to the glaciers .. but I kept trying.
4774Papa Posted July 26, 2020 #10 Share Posted July 26, 2020 The Hubbard Glacier was great, but we didn't spend a huge amount of time there.
