Taxi on St. Kitts

When we were there they charged us $20 per person to take a ride around the island. We had a group of 8 in the taxi ( he got us all together when we got off the ship) and took us to places all around. He also made sure to make a stop at the places his friends had to have us maybe buy something. It was well worth it to do this. We did get to see a ton of things and really enjoyed it. Do it first off the ship and then walk around town after. The trip took about 3 hours or a little longer. This was in Oct when we went.

Has any one hired a taxi for the day on St. Kitts? How much did they charge? We will going there in March & basically want to see things that require circling the island.

We took an island tour with Vigilante, (that is the big name printed on The front/top of his van windshield) while in St. Kitts. It cost us $20.00 US per person and was well worth it. He took 8 of us all over the island and stopped at many different places. We could take as long as we wanted at the places of interest and he was very good at telling us all about the island sites and the people.

I would seek him out again if we stop there.

:) St. Kitts is beautiful. We were in St. Kitts for 9 days in January 2005 and we hired a cab and Sir Walter was the owner/driver. His name is printed across the front of his van. We had him take us around on 4 different occasions. Each time we were out with him about 6-8 hours and it was about $20.00 per person. Some days we had 2 couples some days 3 or 4, but it always averaged about $20.00 per person. He seems know everyone on on that island and everyone seems to know him. He took us to some of the most beautiful places, places most visitors never see. He was so much fun. We've reccomended him to several friends since our visit and everyone comes back raving about "Sir Walter". Look for his van or ask for him at the dock. You won't be disappointed.
