Seasickness, the patch, and the front of the ship...

Unless a hurricane is blowing through, you will probably have much smoother sailing in the Gulf than off the west coast.

 

Sea Bands are available at most retailers and online for $8-15... I rarely experience motion sickness, but I pack a pair anyway.  The one time I really needed them, the gift shop was sold out.  I think DH sold or gifted our spare pair to another passenger, and earned their eternal gratitude.  I personally find the elastic (terry cloth) ones to be more comfortable, but daughter likes the plain plastic so that she can wear them in the gym and spa without them getting soggy.
