It has been awhile since that low.  Booking Haven will bring several thousand deposit.

Normally I think that is a good thing but maybe not right now.

The reason why I think so is that then less people with refundable deposits will book several cruises and cancel most of them later. Then I will have more cabins to choose between.

Is there a deposit discount for booking on board and is that booking then transferable to a TA?

No discount but usually an extra On Board Credit (OBC) for the booked cruise.  We have booked onboard and later transferred to our cruise agent to get an additional $600 OBC.   Speaking of booking onboard it is really a nice process for those in the Yacht Club.  We simply stopped by the Concierge desk and she set up an appointment time with the future cruise consultant.  He came to the YC and we sat down in a comfy sitting area and did the deed.  That is very civilized and just part of what makes the YC worth the big bucks.

Thanks for the info. Our first cruise is in the YC and we also have a TA who gives us very good extra OBC, so that does sound very civilized. We will be getting off a Celebrity TA next November and then transferring to Miami to hop on the Meraviglia. Only a year away. 🛳😀
