Does anybody know if Carnival Casino rate cruises deposits are A) Refundable or B) Non-Refundable.

They only list three rates that are non-refundable:

Early Saver

Super Saver:

Pack & Go:

So which if any does the casino rate fall under?

Has anyone been able to cancel a casino rate deposit and get a full refund?

Thanks,

Neal

All reduced deposit rates are non refundable and follow the Early Saver penalty rules.

Casino deposit is usually $99 per person and is only refundable when Carnival cancels your booking, not when you decide to cancel.

These days they're pretty lenient in letting you change ship and sail date without penalties.

My casino rates always state clearly that the deposit is non-refundable.

When Carnival cancelled my 10/31 sailing, I received a Future Cruise credit for the full amount plus $600 on board credit.

In March I cancelled a 4/11 sailing via phone. Carnival offered to allow me to book another cruise transferring the deposit except for a $50 penalty. I was fine with that and made a new booking for the 10/31 sailing above. A few days later the infamous "no sail order" was published by the CDC. I then received an Email saying that they waved the $50 fee, and added $600 OBC to the 10/31 sailing. I was very happy about that.

The 10/31 sailing Had $600 obc from the rebooking, $200 obc from the casino (essentially making the cabin "free"), $98 obc from Carnival insurance paid for the 4/11 sailing, and $100 obc shareowner benefit. $998 total.

I called to rebook the 10/31 sailing to 2/27. There was a $4 reduction in taxes and fees, which I asked to be applied to a 3/5/22 sailing. They applied the $600 obc to the 2/27 sailing, along with the casino credit of $200. They said that the $98 Carnival insurance cannot be applied to OBC, and it would be refunded to my credit card. The $100 obc shareowner benefit cannot be carried forward, but can be granted with a new application.

We booked a casino rate of $198 for the two of us.  We then put $500 on the account.  Our PVP said that if we cancel, we would lose $463. The way I see it, $698 minus $198 is $500.  So that means that we don't get the money back for the insurance part of the booking.  That was $235.  (198+235=433).  No idea of where the other $30 went.

the interesting part is that brother and SIL are booked in a cabin next to us.  They booked under the same casino rate with the reduced deposit.  At this point, they haven't added any more to the booking.  They too want to cancel.  I didn't ask our PVP what they stand to lose but if they haven't added any more money, I can see them not getting back their deposit but what about  the insurance cost?  Will they receive a bill for that?

I have a non refundable Casino Rate so I would lose my $198.  I did  my insurance through Insurenytrip and they already transferred it to this cruise from one that was cancelled in August   My insurance is under a "Cancel for Any reason" which will allow me to get a full refund.  Glad I took that.  My cruise is January 3rd out of  Miami.   I have the feeling it will be cancelled,  so I am holding out. I  made my final  payment Friday.
