don't-use-real-name Posted December 2, 2020 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2020 Use this LINK: https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/Norwegian-Star Locate 8116 and notice the little camera icon on the life boat just outside your cabin window. That will give you a thumbnail view - Further aft on deck are 8 more side-ways cabin - click on the camera icons for more thumbnail views (NOTE if you are a cruisedeckplans member there are more photos available for viewing) Another LINK: https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/stateroom-details.php?ship=Norwegian-Star&cabin=8116 Side-ways cabins tend to give more open space especially in the bath/rest room. Your deck 8 location will be prone to more pedestrian traffic noise/movement in the passageway outside your cabin door - traffic going to from O'Sheehans. When you get out and move about deck 8 is a merry mayhem of turns and bends in the passageway - because of the position of the lifeboats. Also when the lifeboats are used for tendering and crew maintenance the davits outside of your obstructed window can make an awful grinding grating noise deploying the boats. But you no doubt will not be in your cabin when this happens. The side-ways cabin is of a rectangular design with entry on the side instead of the conventional end entry - feels and seems like more usable space - as noted before the bath/rest room has a tad more space !
