bac513 Posted February 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Thinking about booking Infinity on March 12 - it goes into dry dock on March 20, I believe. Any experiences with reduced service on the last cruise before dry dock? thanks.
claud925 Posted February 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2006 I've read tales on these boards regarding this . . . however, I see that this sailing can be had for a bargain. I saw a FV is still available, and also suite guarantees can be had. If you always wanted to try a suite, I think this would be the time.:) Even lousy service from a butler is better than no service at all!:D
BrendaJ Posted February 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2006 We were on the last cruise before the Millennium drydock in the fall, and we noticed no difference in service at all. The only difference I noticed was that Notes was closed and being renovated into some other venue (never use it anyways, so it wasn't an issue). We were also on the Infinity a couple of years ago before they were going into drydock - however, this was an unscheduled drydock, happening because of pod problems. We found, once again, that service was excellent as usual; it seems a lot of the staff were looking forward to the time off, although they would be training a few hours a day during the drydock. I would not hesitate to book a cruise before a drydock. Brenda
Knolmom Posted February 14, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2006 Learned while omboard the Infinity last week that the last Infinity cruise before the drydock is either fully or almost fully chartered as a gay cruise.
bac513 Posted February 15, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted February 15, 2006 Thanks for the info - can't go anyway. In any event the itinerary was not great and I did see the Cuba Gooding movie:)
gomersimpson Posted February 21, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 21, 2006 Where did you hear that cruise was fully booked or mostly booked by gays? How reliable are your sources? My family is crusing this date and we are not gay.
