What to do in Oranjestad, Aruba?

It's a reasonable place to do some shopping. Lots of good T-shirt shops for the kids. Maybe some lunch at Iguano Joe's. I personally like hanging out on Palm Beach. They have parasailing and jet skis there.

If you like to snorkel, you can do this around the wreck of the Antilla. We did it last week and it was very cool. Next time we're there, we are going to try the SNUBA in Aruba around the wreck. The only downer about that excursion is the abundance of people. Lots of people doing SCUBA, SNUBA, and snorkeling there.

Rent a car/jeep for the day - do a self guided tour - then stop at Eagle Beach or Palm Beach. The teenagers may also enjoy the Jolly Pirates excursion.

Whats the jolly pirates excursion?

We don't do beach and water sports very well and had already taken a tour around Aruba. We walked into the town (turn right on the main street) all the way to the city park with the statue of Queen, There we watched brown pelicans dive bombing for fish, coming up with them and swallowing. We also saw several of the giant iguanas. The park is beautiful as are the grounds around the adjoining hotel. The little shopping mall adjacent to the hotel has a great internet cafe--15 minutes for $3.00.
