We have been lucky to cross the equator a few times so we don't really take many photos these days but here are a few from past cruises over the years

 

 

 

 

 

This was outr most unusual certificate which came from our last cruise when we sailed from Cairns, Australia, to Sri Lanka and sailed along the equator for a while before actually crossing it!

Sorry for the confusion, my error. Did just mean Bora Bora but as I also have photos of Papeete, Tahiti let’s cover both. See you tomorrow.

We broke down on our way to Bora Bora so never got to see it which has always been a regret.

Bora Bora and Papeete.Tomorrow we are in Napier, New Zealand.

It was a grey day when we arrived at Bora Bora and we visited the shallow waters to snorkel with the fish and coral. I stayed in the boat when they swam with the rays and the black tipped sharks. Then when we travelled to the motu for lunch the heavens opened and it poured down and we shivered. However it cleared and we spent an enjoyable afternoon on the island walking and swimming.

We had similar weather in Bora Bora with a cloudy and dull start so, after my husband had done a little fishing, we got an island tour in the morning and a boat tour in the afternoon. Unfortunately, we didn't know about swimming with the sharks so hadn't got our costumes with us.....

W called in Papeete, Tahiti, the day after Bora Bora and found the island to be much more developed and Americanised. We found an island tour once we disembarked and loved the many waterfalls and the botanical gardens.....

There is a very pleasant walk along the seafron at Papeete and you can see Moorea in the distance but we never made it to the island.

Hmm I have over 250 pics of Tahiti  (2 Visits)  will try later to cull them.

Well I tried  😞   at the risk of getting banned I am posting far too many.

Have not been to the port mentioned for New Zealand so this will make up for it. 🙂  Not leaving gaps else I will be here all night

Today we are in Napier, tomorrow Wellington.

Napier was destroyed by an earthquake in 1931 and was rebuilt in the Art Deco  style and has some very lovely buildings.

Aulanis, you took even more pics in French Polynesia than we did - hahaha and you brought back many happy memories too.

Napier looks really nice...fairly typical of New Zealand. We will be re-joining in Wellington though so see you tomorrow.

Well it was 2 visits and one was overnight - I did try and not include many  duplicates- it is an amazing part of the world and so many different things to see.    I should have pictures of Wellington but  on a land tour and must have been prior to digital.

We are not big city people so, although Wellington looked very nice and your pictures confirm that, we did a trip out to the Kapiti Coast area. My pictures of Wellington were taken from the car and it was very overcast when we left the city...

Nope!   found our old passport  2005!   how time flies.

Visitied all these places on a land tour.

Last year we went on a cruise and visited Auckland ,Tauranga,
Akaroa,  Dunedin.  I think there was an excursion to Christchurch

 from Akaroa but we had already been and we wanted to see the Giants house in Akaroa - I have pictures of that.  Excellent for photographers and

gardeners.
