Overnight in Jerusalem or Istanbul?

Thanks for the history lessons.  My request was more along the lines of with just two days in each port, and having to decide on only one, which was the best way to maximize that time in.  I realize it is the intersection of many different religions, but was not intending to get folks personal religious, political views etc.  As I said, have decided to do the two days in Israel, for a variety of reasons.  Don't want this to become another infinitely dragged out vaccine like thread.  For those that offered subjective and relevant responses, much appreciated.
