That is likely the case, especially with the new Liquefied natural gas ships. It would be interesting to see the fuel efficiency comparisons between gas and oil. Snibs Posted March 13, 2021 #28 Share Posted March 13, 2021 Although most modern ships are much larger then those of 20 years ago, so it may be they are technically less polluting but due to their size still putting out plenty of pollution. The LNG is cleaner but there is limited places for ships to be refuelled at, hence why Iona was supposed to be going to Norway on a weekly basis.
