casey2431 Posted April 18, 2021 #27 Share Posted April 18, 2021 Definitely a wonderful memory of a fun trip! I’ll really miss sailing with Captain Wells and wish him a very happy retirement.
Rare Jack E Dawson Posted April 25, 2021 #28 Share Posted April 25, 2021 I was just wondering if a replacement has been named for Captain Wells? I suppose that at this time, there is no rush for Cunard to do so. Jack

We were on it at the start of the 2020 world cruise. We had multiple emergency evacuations including one during an intense blizzard where we had to meet up with a Canadian coast guard helicopter around 1am. I always enjoyed his dry wit, he will be missed. Was that the Dec. 15-22, '19 crossing? There was an evacuation by helicopter on that voyage also, and I remember the snow on the deck the next morning! If that's the one you are referring to, I didn't realize that was his last crossing. At any rate, we wish Captain Wells all the best for a pleasant retirement.

He was supposed to rejoin the ship for the last legs in Fremantle but he was denied boarding just like all the passengers and then the world cruise ended.
