cmptrwiz Posted April 19, 2021 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2021 WE recently received our Barclays Carnival Credit card and have used it and now have enough points to get $200 off of a Carnival cruise. My biggest concern is if I pay for part of our cruise we have booked for January 2022 (final payment due Oct 2 2021) and the cruise is canceled by Carnival or us will the 2000 point be returned to the credit card for future use or will they disappear? I thought I read somewhere that it happened to a cruiser and Barclays kept the points?
cmptrwiz Posted April 19, 2021 Author #2 Share Posted April 19, 2021 Correction: 20,000 points not 2000 points.
cmptrwiz Posted April 21, 2021 Author #3 Share Posted April 21, 2021 So I called Barclays and spoke to a customer representative, who obliviously English was not her primary language and she made it sound like we would loose our 20,000 points. Why not just attach that card to your s&s account, pretend like that money is OBC, then use the statement credit when you get home?
mondello Posted April 23, 2021 #7 Share Posted April 23, 2021 Carnival has been giving OBC to entice us to rebook cruises that have had to be cancelled during the shutdown. Instead of a refund if you may lose the points, you could get FCC plus OBC.
