So let me try and figure this out. In order to get the cruise industry up and running the CDC is saying 98% of crew members must be vaccinated. In Florida the cruise industry is a billion dollar industry and responsible for thousands of jobs. I see the governor of Florida is being lauded here for allowing crew members to be vaccinated. And rightfully so. But in all honesty my 5 year old grandson could have put 2 and 2 together here.

But, in all honesy, your 5 year old isn't in a position to put 2 and 2 together here.  The governor of Florida has made some decisions that have deserved praise, mainly putting 65 and older as his top priority.  He understands the needs of the industry crucial to the economy of Florida, and for that he certainly has earned my respect.

"Crucial to the economy of Florida"?  I used some figures I found for 2016, and the total state economy was around $815 billion, and tourism represented about $112 billion (13.7%).  Cruise industry input about $8 billion that year (1% of total economy, 7% of tourism).  That $8 billion is CLIA's own figure, so they will have shown it in the most favorable light.

But lets face it Politicians often can not put 2 and 2 together and often act dumber than any 5 year old grandson.

Ie;  Governor Cuomo ordering Covid 19 Positive patients into nursing homes.

Every governor in the US put those over 65 and over in the top priority list. That was according to CDC guidelines. I just don't think we should be heaping praise on decisions that any person with an IQ the size of my shoe should be able to make. But common sense is not that common anymore.

Still crucial.  No need to split nickles here.

Agree!  Interesting article on Cruising’s Contribution to the U.S. Economy.  It was 55.5 Billion in 2019 and generated more than 436,000 jobs!
