Free cruise

We got our first free offer several years ago after I spent $30 in the casino on a 7 day cruise. Seemed random at the time but we still do receive offers several times/year and we sometimes do take one and upgrade to a balcony or in early 2020 a Neptune. I do spend more than $30 now so it seems to have worked for them!

I've sailed >30 times on Carnival and have taken several of their special Premier casino offers where you get DOU, casino cash (and it used to be actual cash handed to you at the cage), special drawings, sail-away party, gifts in the cabin, etc.  The casino is always SO packed that it really isn't that much fun.  FTR, I am definitely NOT a high roller! 🤣

I've sailed HAL 3 times and get much, much better casino offers from them although I only sail every few years and don't spend any more money in their casinos than I do on Carnival, so go figure.

I just got off the phone with my PCC and booked a "free" sailing for November.  I've never booked a guarantee so fingers crossed that I won't be in a terrible cabin for 10 days.

I did check the cost to "upgrade" and it was absurd as a solo.  And I actually like inside cabins.  No need for natural light (love sleeping in those dark cabins since I typically stay up much later when sailing than I do at home).  I did ask that if one was available, I'd love to be in a J cabin.  Love them.

I actually had basically the same offer which expired in March but the Free Play money was more than double what it is now.  But even 2 months ago, I really wasn't confident that we'd sail at all in 2021.  Or, if we could, we'd be limited to 7 nights.

Question - on those Carnival sailings, your cabin mate also received a DOU card, whether that person had received the offer or not.  If I talk a friend into joining me, will that person also get the drinks while gambling?  I didn't see that in the fine print, so I'm thinking that's a no.
