For first time cruisers there is only one rule: Do what it takes to get your butt on the boat. Experienced cruisers - especially the type who hang out on CruiseCritic - love to debate everything about cruising: which cabin, which port, where to eat, etc. If you’ve been on a few cruises and know for certain you are going on more, that stuff matters.
