ekerr19 Posted February 16, 2006 Author #26 Share Posted February 16, 2006 I know my wife and I need a cruise...expecially her. I lost my job about this time last year and haven't worked steady since then. My wife has carried the financial load almost entirely by herself. TODAY...I got a job (I'll work only on commission, but thank God it's a chance). The first thing I told my new boss was that I will be repaying my wife with a cruise...so reserve a week for vacation very soon. Good things come to those who wait. Now...should we take Veendam, Westerdam, or RCCL's Radiance of the seas? Dexter - Congratulations on getting that job!!! Our economy has not rebounded much either - despite what everyone says... The housing prices continue to skyrocket and Denver made the top 10 "over-priced" areas for the first time ever... thankfully, we aren't over mortgaged. Good luck with the new job - take that cruise as soon as you can - and look for the discounted sailings! It sounds like you both deserve it. :)
dexter Posted February 16, 2006 #27 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Thanks ekerr19. The economy here in Augusta, Ga is actually booming, but not for those who are approaching 60 like me. I worked as a radio announcer for 30 years here, but when the big corporations began buying up radio stations the older guys with good salaries were the first to go. But, I ain't dead yet and "I will survive"! Thanks again. Luckily I had a little savings that paid off most of our bills.
