Overlapping Itinerary?

Recommended Posts

i have been looking at 8-night Western Med cruises for May 2022.  There are two cruises on Allure with overlapping dates/departure ports. One begins May 8 from Barcelona (with a port stop in Rome) and the other begins on May 12 from Rome.  Is this a mistake or is there an option to embark at either location?  Trying to understand and hope more experienced cruisers may know.

Costa and MSC do this all the time .... Spanish families embark in Barcelona, French families in Marseille (or Nice, Cannes, etc.) and Italian families in Savonna (or Genoa, Civitavecchia, etc.) ... everyone stays aboard for a full cruise roundtrip ... disembarking in their embarkation port. We have sailed on Costa ... fascinating to watch. What coordination to make it all work ... very impressed with the European brands.
