Question about changing cabins

Our first cruise on Celebrity  (we sailed on Carnival and Royal Caribbean).  It’s been awhile since our last cruise and I’ve forgotten half of what I learned...

We’re booked on the Constellation for December 2022.  Significant Other booked the reservation  and chose a cabin that I’m less than totally thrilled with.  Should I try to change it, how easy or difficult would that be?

What about an upgrade?  Are we likely to see price drops that would make it feasible?

It's easy to change...

If it's to the same category but different cabin, just call them and have them change it to any available cabin in that category...

If you want to upgrade it, they'll always do that...just pay the difference in price...

For December cruises--if it's around Holiday time--the prices will likely go up...especially if people get vaccinated and start deciding they want to cruise again...Holiday cruises generally fill up and they command higher fares.

If cruises don't fill, I've often been successful moving up to Concierge class as those are typically the slowest to fill since you don't really get much for the extra price...But no late price drop is ever a sure thing...

So, the best advice is to just book the cabin you really want as soon as you can...then don't worry about it...

What cabin did your Significant Other choose?  On those M-Class ships, there are some cabins that don't look great to the newbie...like the "Sweet 16"--the first 8 balconies either side on Deck 6...they have double the balcony size...

It is easy to make a cabin # change within the same category, just ask your travel agent or Celebrity if you booked direct.  There won't be a price change but do check in case there has been a price drop since booking.  If it's a cabin in a different category then there would be the price difference added/subtracted from the final price.   If you are a Captain's Club member, you may be able to get a free one step up upgrade...for example: pay an A2 price for an A1 cabin.   They do have a footnote that there are only a certain quantity available for that.

I frequently check prices for drops and/or more perks.

And since you have preferences for SRs, I wouldn’t wait to see if costs go down, I’d make  changes soonest. And with everybody not cruising for many months and yours is during/near the holidays, I’d jump on it now.

but as in everything, your call.
